On December 31st every year we are usually feeling one of two things, happy or sad. We look forward with hope of the coming year and tend to want to forget the past. We say things like… New Year, New You. We make resolutions and plans for all the things we want to change. Or maybe we had a great year and want to stay there in it, because we cant see it getting any better.
Lets be honest… every year is different, but one thing never changes. If your reading this You’re still alive! You have a future! You have your whole life ahead of you no matter how young you are. Your not just starting off new. Your starting off a New Year with all the lessons and with all the experiences from the year and years past. You have Wisdom on what worked out and what didn’t. You may have regrets but they are in the past and can be changed in the future.
Some of us lost things this year, jobs, loved ones, marriages. Its hard to look back, we question why?. We want to forget all the challenges we walked through this year. But I want to encourage you, every struggle has an outcome that only you can decide. No Matter how bad the pain and no matter how long the battle there is a scar you take with you that can be positive. Did you ever look at someone with a major scar? We always want to know but are afraid to ask how they got it because we know there was pain involved. But if we do, its usually a moving story that changes our perspective on life. Whether your scar is physical or emotional it is part of a bigger picture that God can use in your future if you let him to leave a positive impact on someones life next year.
Do not be too quick to forget what you came through. Take a Good Look Back on 2018. Take it all with you, the good and the bad. You made it and it is making you who you are. You are Loved. God is working all these things together for your good and your future. You are powerful and full of strength… Fuel up and get ready for 2019!!
