Good, I don’t want you to either!!! So here are the few things you need to know before you go ahead and branch out of your lipstick comfort zone.
There is no better time then Holiday time to wear a Red Lip, but the choices of reds are endless. Which one do you choose?
First there is the color. A warm red has orange undertones and is less popular overall since most people have cool skin tones. Typically full blooded Native American or Mexican heritage have that yellow skin which allows them to look better with these shades. You can confidently choose a cool red with a pink undertone if you are any other nationality.
Second is the consistency. This determines the staying power! Glosses are usually sheer and wear off, so you will need to reapply often. If you are you going to be eating and drinking when you wear red, find a long lasting lipstick so it doesn’t look like you have just lip liner on after the first bite. Speaking of lip liner, I highly suggest wearing it with a lipstick or a gloss to prevent bleeding of your color. And for those like myself who have larger lips… line on or inside the lip line. The circus may not need you right now!
Hot tip: To prevent bleeding of color, apply foundation to your entire lip or wear a lip primer under your color.
Remember to wear your lipstick, don’t let it wear you!
